Although all of the Pritchard amplifiers are great, players will want to pick a model that fits their particular needs. The Black Dagger is the basic amplifier, so if you do not need the extra features of the Sword of Satori, Gold Estoc or the Sultry Margaux, then a Black Dagger is your amplifier.

Black Dagger

Black Dagger amplifies a single instrument* or microphone with one of the six selectable voices with an emphasis on vintage tone. The foot switch turns on and off either of the two fixed boosts giving you four potential gain boosts plus one of the Boosts is variable. The standard Dagger voices cover the gamut of guitar amplifier requirements from way cool clean tones to screaming lead tones.

Guitar Players:		The Black Dagger, gives you the option of picking one of six voices for each of your tunes along with foot switchable gains, Dagger offers great tone at a more reasonable price. The 4-12TB gives you extra bottom.

Acoustic Players:		The A voice is recommended for acoustic instruments with the F voice as alternative. The Black Dagger artistically amplifies to add warmth, body, resilience and life. The 2-8/1-5 and 1-12/2-5 TB cabinets are also recommended.

Harp Players:		The Black Dagger, particularly in the single 12 cabinet is your amplifier. Plenty of power and lots of dynamics.

Steel Players:		The Black Dagger, in the single 15 cabinet offers the steel player great warm, fat, resilient tone that is quite alive and light weight .

Drop Tunings:		4-12TB or a special Black Dagger with a 1-15 Extension cabinet is a good choice.

Blood Dagger*

Blood Dagger also amplifies a single instrument* or microphone with one of the six selectable voices, but with the emphasis on the boutique overdrive coloring. The foot switch turns on and off either of the two fixed boosts giving you four potential gain boosts plus one of the Boosts is variable. The standard Dagger voices cover the gamut of guitar amplifier requirements from way cool clean tones to boutique overdrive lead tones.

Guitar Players:		The Blood Dagger, gives you the option of picking one of six voices for each of your tunes along with foot switchable gains, Blood Dagger offers great boutique distortion tones at a more reasonable price. The 4-12TB gives you extra bottom.

Harp Players:		The Blood Dagger, particularly in the single 12 cabinet is your amplifier. Plenty of power and lots of dynamics.

Steel Players:		The Dagger, in the single 15 cabinet offers the steel player great warm, fat, resilient tone that is quite alive and light weight .

Drop Tunings:		4-12TB or a special Blood Dagger with a 1-15 Extension cabinet is a good choice.

* The differences between the Blood Dagger and the Black Dagger are the "high gain" distortion coloring to the voice selections. The Blood Dagger has the (H) voice in lieu of the Black Daggers (A) voice.

Jade Dagger

Jade Dagger amplifies a single instrument* or microphone with one of the six selectable voices with an emphasis on vintage clean tones. The foot switch turns on and off either of the two fixed boost. It has six clean to crunch tones that are suited for a wide variety of instruments.

Solo Guitar:		Jade Dagger gives your guitar six voices that emphasis clean and crunch tones, each with or without gain boost. Jade Dagger is at home with acoustic and jazz guitars. While Jade Dagger fits in a wide variety of Pritchard cabinets, the 1-12/2-5 TB cabinet was designed for Jade Dagger in acoustic or bass venues.

Bass Players:		Jade Dagger gives your instrument warmth, fat, resilience.The 1-12/2-5 TB cabinet is augmented by the single 15 extension cabinet for big bass tone.

Acoustic Players:		Gives you several great voices plus artistically amplifies to add warmth, body, resilience and life. The 2-8/1-5 TB cabinet is recommended.

Guitar - Jazz:		Although the Jade Dagger works well in any of the cabinets for most types of jazz, the really mellow sort is best served by a 15" woofer in a single 15 Tunnel Back™ Cabinet. For really clean jazz, consider the 2-8/1-5 Tunnel Back™ Cabinet.

Drop Tunings:		The Jade Dagger is designed for lower frequency ranges, particularly when used in conjunction with the 1-15 Tunnel Back™ Extension cabinet or the 4-12TB. Or consider the 2-8/1-5 Tunnel Back™ Cabinet.

Sword of Satori

Sword amplifies a single instrument* or microphone with one of either of the two vintage voiced channels. The foot switch selects the channel and the gain boost.

The two channels allow you to pick one of the nine* voices for each channel along with their own tone control and gain settings then use the foot switch to hop between the two channels even while playing. Plus the boost is foot switchable. That gives you four unique amplifier characters that you set at the touch of the toe.

The main channel has a variable boost control while the second channel has a fixed boost. The standard main channel voices also cover the gamut of guitar requirements from very cool clean tones to screaming lead tones.

The second channel has a set boost level that can be toggled on or off. The standard second channel voices work with lower gains and consequently emphasize the clean and crunch tones.

Sword of Satori is the must-have amplifier for players who need two different basic voices in some of their tunes.

Gold Estoc(formerly Gold Sabre)

The Gold Estoc takes the versatility of the Sword of Satori to a higher level with a second channel more oriented towards modern boutique overdrive distortion. Like Sword, the Gold Estoc has two foot switchable channels for amplifying a single instrument or microphone according to independently selected voices.

The two channels allow you to pick one of the ten* voices for each channel along with their own tone control and gain settings then use the foot switch to hop between the two channels even while playing. Plus the boost is foot switchable. That gives you four unique amplifier characters that you set at the touch of the toe. Great if your doing a tune where you go from"vintage clean" to "vintage distortion" to "modern distorted rhythm" to "modern distorted lead".

The main channel is the vintage channel providing both clean or dirty tones plus those wondrous in between tones. This channel has two foot switchable tones, no boost and a higher gain tone, set by the variable boost.

The second channel is oriented towards the more modern boutique overdrive tones with its extra distortion stage and post distortion volume control. This volume control (like a master volume) can be adjusted to mix in clean or dirty distortion while the Watts Knob™ can adjust that tone down to lower power levels without losing any of the distortion or harmonic structure.

Like Sword, the Gold Estoc is a must-have, for those who want an even greater versatility and a full-range tones from “mellow clean” to “vintage blues dirt” to “modern overdrive”.

Boutique Dirty:		Gold Estoc, with it's additional gain and unique voice selection is best suited for this. Uniquely, the second channel Volume control and the Watts Knob™ produces preamp and output stage distortion at lower levels. The 1-12 Closed Back is recommended to best match this application. The 4-12TB gives you extra bottom.

Guitar Players:		Gold Estoc, gives you the option of picking one of six voices for each channel then foot switching between the two along with foot switchable boost gain for each channel. Any cabinet will work, so choose one to match your style. However, a closed back single 12 is the best for the rock enthusiast while the 1-12/2-5 Tunnel Back™ is the most versatile. The 4-12TB gives you extra bottom.

Sultry Margaux

Sultry Margaux amplifies an instrument* and a microphone, a two-channel instrument, or two instruments simultaneously. The main channel has six clean to crunch tones that are suited for a wide variety of instruments. The second channel, nominally a microphone channel, has only one voice. The foot switch turns on and off one fixed gain boost per channel independently. The variable boost knob common to the other amplifiers is replaced with a DEEP tone control. Additionally, Sultry Margaux has a parametric cut/boost filter that can be placed in either of the channels by a switch on the front panel.

Sultry Margaux, while having the gain to get dirty, is Pritchard’s nominally clean amp.

Solo Guitar:		Margaux gives your guitar six voices that emphasis clean and crunch tones, each with or without gain boost. Margaux is at home with acoustic and jazz guitars. While Margaux fits in a wide variety of Pritchard cabinets, the 1-12/2-5 TB cabinet was designed for Margaux in acoustic or bass venues.

Bass Players:		Margaux gives your instrument warmth, fat, resilience. The 1-12/2-5 TB cabinet is augmented by the single 15 extension cabinet for big bass tone.

Speakers and Cabinets

The speaker cabinet has the final word in amplifier tone, particularly when the amplifier is dirty, so the selection of speaker type and cabinet is also quite important. Many of the Pritchard Amp speaker cabinets use Pritchard’s patented Tunnel Back™ technology. This technology gives smaller, easier-to-carry cabinets a bigger sound.

1-12 Tunnel Back™ Combo Cabinet

The single 12 Tunnel Back™ cabinet is the basic guitar amplifier cabinet. The patented retro designs surrounds the patented Tunnel Back™ acoustic structure to give this cabinet's custom Eminence speaker great tone. This cabinet with an amplifier weighs approximately 35 pounds but still packs a big cabinet punch. The 1-12 Tunnel Back™ Cabinet is recommended for the Black Dagger and the Sword of Satori although Sultry Margaux will also fit. 1-12 Closed Back Extension Speaker

The single 12 closed-back cabinet is nominally for players who would like to have the wider or bigger sound of two speakers, or who want to run lower powered speakers. This cabinet has two possibilities depending upon what impedance speaker is installed. Initially, this cabinet was designed to work with a special 1-12 combo that would also run with an 8-ohm speaker. The two speakers would then draw the full power of the amplifier. Then if only the speaker in the combo were used, the amplifier would only deliver half power, or so. Alternatively, this cabinet may be equipped with a 4-ohm custom Eminence speaker to be used in lieu of clean oriented speakers such as the cabinet below.

1-12 / 2-5 Tunnel Back™ Combo Cabinet

The most versatile cabinet, with the deepest-bass, packing a custom Eminence 12 and two switchable 5's to accentuate the high’s for everything between airy acoustic classics and excellent 7-string performance. This cabinet is a favored upgrade for people who enjoy the 1-12 TB cabinet but want more top end. A foot switch lets you switch on and off the tweeters as desired. An optional extension jack gives you the option of adding a 1-12 TB Ext or 1-15 TB Ext cabinet for greater bottom end. 45 Hz Resonance (F below Low E) 18.5W x 23H x 12D, 42lbs. Universally great for every style.

1-15 Tunnel Back™ Extension Speaker

The 1-15 Tunnel Back™ Extension Speaker uses a high-sensitivity woofer to give the 1-12/2-5 cabinet even greater bass. This cabinet, although larger, is still quite manageable since it rolls and has side pocket handles.

1-15 Tunnel Back™ Combo Cabinet

An enhancement of the country, blues and jazz favorite with custom Eminence 15-inch speaker, 55Hz resonance (Low A) for really smooth bass and excellent 7 string performance. The Cabinet is a taller version of the 1-12 cabinet and can be fitted with three potential 15" speakers: guitar, bass, or woofer. The woofer, the same high-efficiency speaker used in the 1-15 Tunnel Back™ Extension Cabinet, produces a very mellow character, particularly for some jazz players. At about 44 pounds, this cabinet and amplifier combination still demands only one trip into the gig. This cabinet also has side handles in addition to the top handle to better manage it in tight quarters. 18.5W x 23H x 12D

The custom Eminence 12-inch speaker, 60Hz (Low B) Resonance. At 42lbs for amplifier and cabinet, you can carry your axe and a powerful punch in a single trip to a gig. 18.5W x 23H x 12D. Easy-to-carry Huge Sound!

This cabinet makes a great match up for those who like the M voice or those looking for the modern dirty sound in the Gold Estoc.

4-10 Tunnel Back™ ™ Combo Cabinet

A sentimental favorite and great cabinet with four 10-inch artistic Eminence Alnico Legend speakers, 60Hz Resonance (Low B). Great tone, big sound. At only 42 pounds, and 20 pounds lighter than other 4-10's, this great combo still promises a single trip into the gig. The side pocket handles plus the top handle make handling this cabinet quite easy. Dimensions 22.5W x 25H x 10.5D. Superbly exciting vintage artistry.
